Absences

Students are expected to be present and punctual to all classes throughout the year. Students are tardy at 9:30 and must sign in at the attendance office.

Excused absences are those that occur due to student illness, a medical/dental appointment, court dates, pre-approved absences of educational value, illness or death in the family, or other reasons deemed acceptable by an administrator.  Phone calls do not excuse a student's absence/tardy from school.  Please turn in a note with any legal/medical documentation to the attendance office within 48 hours of a student returning from absences.  Please include student name and grade along with reason and dates of absences.

We are requesting that students not be signed out after 3:30 p.m. due to traffic congestion unless you have an extreme emergency.

Parent Conferences

Parent conferences are scheduled through the grade level secretary.  Conferences are held with all team and exploratory teachers.  Since your child’s team of teachers work together to serve their students; the best information is available by talking to all of them.  Having input from all six teachers allows you to get a complete picture.   Sometimes there will be a problem in one class but not the other five.  Knowing this allows you to work with your child on this area while praising him/her for the classes that are going well. Full team conferences are a valuable asset and part of the middle school philosophy.

To schedule a conference, call our main line at 407.877.5035 then enter the appropriate extension for your child’s grade to reach the corresponding secretary.

Progress and Report Card Schedule

There are four marking periods in the district calendar. The final grade that your child has received for teacher during a marking period is sent home in a report card. A progress report is sent out half-way through each marking period to indicate your child’s performance before the marking period ends. Below are the dates for each marking period.
